White House removes Tebow petition

White House removes Tebow petition

Posted: Updated:

Tim Tebow fans have failed in an attempt to get the White House involved in getting the quarterback a new job.

Using the White House's "We The People" petition submission page, Tebow fans sought to get President Obama involved in convincing the Jacksonville Jaguars to hire Tebow as a quarterback.  The Jets released the polarizing signal-caller last week.

The petition said:  "home games will be sold out, sales will spike, the team will win and the fans will be happy" if the Jaguars signed Tebow.

The White House has removed the petition.  A link to that page has a statement saying:  "The petition you are trying to access has been removed from the site under our Moderation Policy because it is in violation of our Terms of Participation."  It didn't specify what terms had been violated.

The site is billed as a way to give Americans a way to "engage their government on the issues that matter to them."

The site claims that if a petition meets a signature threshold, it will be reviewed by the administration and a response will be issued.
