LONGWOOD, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

A Central Florida church is sending volunteers and supplies to Oklahoma to assist in tornado recovery efforts.

Hours after the tornado touched down in Moore, members at Northland Church in Longwood began packing, loading a mobile kitchen unit and just about every supply they could find.

How to help: Donate at RedCross.org, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or text "RED CROSS" to 90999 to make an automatic $10 donation.

"I cant even imagine what it is like, so it is going to be quite a shock even for us," said Gretchen Kerr, who is leading the group of volunteers.  Kerr said the church responded similarly when disaster struck during Hurricane Sandy.

"We were pushing out 2,000 to 2,500 meals a day," she said.

In addition to those making the 20-hour drive, about a dozen will be flying to Oklahoma.
