Burger King employee hides robbery suspects' getaway car

STOCKTON, Calif. -

Two robbery suspects didn't "have it their way" when they attempted to rob a Burger King restaurant.

Police say it's a crime they've never seen before.

"It really is a bizarre crime," said Stockton Police Officer Joe Silva.

Two men went into the Burger King waving guns and demanding cash.  At that moment, an employee snuck out the back and noticed the suspect's getaway car was running, so he hopped in and drove it away from the scene to a nearby corner -- giving police enough time to arrest the suspects once they realized they had no transportation!

"I haven't heard of any employee actually leaving a business, getting inside the suspect vehicle and trying to hide it," said Silva.  "The quick action from this employee did allow our officers to get on scene and arrest the suspects."

While the silly scene did end the right way, police always recommend that people being robbed simply comply for their own safety.
