Teen girl who disappeared from Daytona Beach found safe

A 17-year-old girl who went missing early Saturday evening on Daytona Beach has been found safe in Seminole County, deputies said.

Nicole Crowder, from St. Louis, was in the Central Florida area to visit her mother, who lives in Windermere. She had last been seen Saturday evening with an unknown man and woman on the beach near Sunsplash Park, 611 S. Atlantic Ave., the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said.

On Sunday, deputies released a sketch of a person of interest in the search for Crowder. Deputies and the Volusia County Beach Patrol were working together to locate her.

Crowder was reported to have the mental capacity of a 9-year-old and takes several medications.
