OCALA, Fla. (WOGX FOX 51) -

Police investigators in Oklahoma City say a woman there has confessed to the murder of an Ocala man.

Florida authorities are awaiting the extradition of Kimberly Collins, 53, accused of stabbing her former roommate, Manuel "Sonny" Amaral, approximately three weeks ago.

Marion County sheriff's deputies on Saturday discovered the decomposing body of the 77-year-old Amaral after performing a well being check at his home on at 340 S.W. 172nd St. in Ocala.

"We arrive to the scene, knock on the door, tap on the windows and call out his name," said Marion County Sheriff's Office spokesman Judge Cochran.   "Eventually, we made our way around the home and we found the body."

It's early in the investigation, but evidence shows Amaral was stabbed in the back.

Right now, Collins remains with the Oklahoma City Police Department.  Officers say she has not given them a reason for the killing.

"Miss Collins did tell the Oklahoma City Police Department that she was, quite frankly, tired of the abuse," said Cochran.
