CLARKSTON, Mich. (WJBK) -

Update: Oakland County Sheriff's Detectives arrested a 43 year old man from Independence Township Saturday morning. He is accused of attempting to break into Kid Rock's Clarkston home on July 31.

The man is being held at the Oakland County Jail until his arraignment on Monday.

Hss 1994 Ford Club Wagon van was also impounded by police. That's the vehicle he used to force open the gated driveway to the property.

Original Story: "You've never met a.... quite like me!"

Apparently one guy decided it was time to meet the man who wrote those lyrics.

Kid Rock's home was the target of an attempted break-in Wednesday when a man drove a van through the gate of the musician's northern Oakland County estate. He then tried to break into a building on the property.

Oakland County Sheriff's are asking for the public's help. And so is Kid Rock.

We found the following post on his Web site Friday:

Suspect wanted for trespassing, destruction of property and attempted home invasion in Clarkston, MI. Please help the Oakland County Sheriff identify and capture this man. White male. Late 40's - early 50's. Receding hairline. Mustache. Side burns. Smoker. May have crutches. Last seen in the area of M-15 (Ortonville Rd) and Hubbard (just north of I-75) Wednesday afternoon, July 31, 2013 around 4:15pm.

Thank God I was not on the property at the time of this attempted break in.

Kid Rock is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call Sheriff's Dispatch at (248) 858-4911.
