CONYERS, Ga. -

Authorities are continuing to investigate the death of an Atlanta Braves fan who fell to his death at Turner Field on Monday night.

Ronald Homer, 30, died after falling 85 feet at the stadium.

Atlanta police said there was no one near Homer when he fell. The medical examiner said on Tuesday that the injuries found on the body are consistent with blunt-force trauma, indicating there was no confrontation.

Police have denied stories that Homer was being chased by security.

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed promised a full investigation into the incident. The mayor said officials will look into whether precautions need to be taken at Turner Field.

Multiple police sources told FOX 5's Morse Diggs that they believe Homer hopped over the rail, believing that the distance below would be much shorter than that fall.

Friends and family gathered at Homer's parents' home in Conyers on Tuesday. They say he was full of life, the kind of person who lit up a room.

"Ron was a gentle giant. He loved everyone and everybody and never said a bad thing about anybody," said his aunt.

Family members said Homer was a huge Braves fan and was excited about attending Monday's game.

Homer was the youngest of two children. The Conyers native was a graduate of Rockdale High School, attended Oxford College and worked for a lawn care company.

His family said that he'd just returned home from a trip with his girlfriend's family and was excited about his future.

"He is a precious soul that we've lost in this family that can never be replaced. Never," Homer's aunt said.
