Metro Detroiters take part in 50th anniversary of March on Washington

Saturday marked the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington. Metro Detroiters were among the tens of thousands of people who took part in the commemorative event.

Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech was an iconic moment that changed the course of our nation and created opportunities for millions of Americans. Now, 50 years later, thousands stood on the same mall where King delivered his courageous message. There were plenty of Detroiters in the crowd including the Rev. Charles Williams of the Historic King Solomon Baptist Church and the National Action Network.
