Feds: NJ man reports fake kidnapping to embassy

Posted: Updated:

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a northern New Jersey man created a fake female identity and falsely reported the girl's kidnapping to U.S. embassies overseas.

Andriy Mykhaylivskyy of Rutherford, who is also known as Andriy Haddad, was due to appear in federal court Tuesday afternoon. He's charged with making false statements to a U.S. official.

He allegedly created an Internet identity for Kate Brianna Fulton, and started an online relationship with a high school student.

Last month, he allegedly called the U.S. embassies in Moldova and Bulgaria, reporting that Fulton had been kidnapped. He pointed authorities to Twitter and Facebook messages.

Embassy agents scoured the streets of Burgas, Bulgaria, looking for the fictitious girl. Authorities discovered photos of Fulton were actually of a New Jersey high school student who was unharmed.

While the rest of us merely march to the beat of our own drum, Savion Glover is the drum. The tap dance superstar has dazzled audiences from the small screen to the big screen from the White House to the Great White Way. More than just a legend, Savion has become a curator of tap. He is on a mission to keep the craft sacred for future generations.

Burger chain Five Guys is testing the adage that everything tastes better with bacon. It is rolling out a customizable milkshake program and along with bananas, peanut butter, Oreo cookies, salted caramel, you can chose bacon.  Yes that's right: a bacon milkshake.

Like most soon-to-be third graders, Sonja knows what she's looking for when it comes to back-to-school shopping. For kids trying to be fashionable -- and parents looking to keep it affordable -- there's the Ocean County Hunger Relief Warehouse in Toms River, New Jersey. It's basically a huge thrift shop.
