SMYRNA, Ga. -

Police are looking for two men accused of a violent home invasion in Smyrna. Authorities say the men attacked a woman and stabbed her boyfriend during the incident.

The attack took place at a residence on Highland Drive on August 29.

Smyrna Police Cpl. Ed Cason said the suspects forced their way into the home after a woman answered the door. The suspects then started to ransack the house.

"We're not sure what they were looking for, but when our victim returned home, they met him out on the driveway where the attack took place," Cason said.

The man was stabbed several times and is still in the intensive care unit recovering. Police said that they haven't had a chance to talk to him yet because he's been heavily sedated.

Authorities would not describe the injuries to the woman.

Police said that the assault was not random and that the suspects knew the victims.

Anyone with information on the home invasion is asked to call police.
