Woman arrested in fatal Apopka hit and run bonds out of jail

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

A woman arrested in a fatal hit and run in Apopka early Tuesday morning has bonded out of jail.

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol took 18-year-old Kristy Nandoo into custody hours after they said she hit and killed 16-year-old Edward Fernandez.  Fernandez was struck as he was crossing State Road 436 at Thompson Road on a bicycle.

After the crash, witnesses called 911 to report the incident.  They described seeing the a gray Ford Mustang leaving the scene.  Troopers identified Nandoo as the driver.  Later in the morning, Apopka police officers located  Nandoo driving her boyfriend's truck.

Nandoo said nothing as she left the Orange County Jail.  She is charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash, a felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison.
