Arrests made in alleged 'K2' synthetic marijuana operation
MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
Three men are in the Marion County Jail on charges related to possession of K2, which is a synthetic form of marijuana.
Fares Rabah, 41, Ahmed Mohsin, 36, Ahmad Warayat, 27 face charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance -- synthetic marijuana -- with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Marion County Sheriff's Office received an anonymous tip about the possible manufacturing of K2 at a closed business in Dunnellon. The tipster called on Monday evening to report that men were loading K2 into a moving truck. When they arrived at the location, deputies said they learned that the building was used as a large-scale manufacturing location for the synthetic marijuana.
Deputies said they discovered large scales, empty packages, cases of acetone, more than 11,600 prepared packages of K2 and several cement mixers used to mix the product.
