The FBI is asking for the public's help identifying the "Hard Hat Bandit." The man robbed a Chase Bank in Chandler on Sept. 19.

The suspect entered the bank at 1025 W. Queen Creek Road about 5:15 p.m. and approached the teller counter.

He asked if they accepted an American Express card, which was folded in half so the teller could not see the name on the card.

When told the bank did not accept the card, the suspect told the teller this was a robbery.

He gestured to his pants, suggesting he had a gun, and repeatedly asked the teller for more money. He received a known amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, mid to late 30s, 5'8" tall, with short brown or black hair, unshaven with a mustache. He was soft-spoken in clear English with a noticeable Hispanic accent, according to the FBI.

He was wearing a white construction hard hat, prescription glasses, black bandana around his neck, tan long sleeve shirt with yellow reflective traffic vest over it, gold chain or watch on right wrist and blue jeans.

TIPLINE: FBI at 623-466-1999
