Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in connection with the July death of 27-year-old John Paul Lee. Lee was run over so many times near Eight Mile Road and St. Marys Street that even medical examiners could not determine how many cars rode over his body.

Police say all of the drivers kept driving.

Lee was found lying in the middle of the road. He did not have a car because, his family says, he loved to walk through the city and meet new people. They add he often reached out to strangers, befriending senior citizens and the homeless.

Now, Lee's family is asking for the help of a stranger.

"If this was you, in this situation, you would definitely want someone to come forth on you behalf. And that's what we ask - is justice for our family," Jermaine Boswell, a family member, says. "You can take away the guilt. Give it to God. Turn yourself in."

Lee's sister, Tracey, adds: "We are not going to make it if we don't get any peace. We are just asking for you to help us to make this process just a little easier."

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest. The organization will give out $2,000 if that information is given before midnight on Friday. If you saw or know something, call 1-800-SPEAK-UP (1-800-773-2587). You will remain anonymous.
