As police continue to pinpoint the key players in last Sunday's shocking clash between a group of motorcyclists and a driver, another somewhat unlikely victim has emerged.
The motorcyclists who cops say pulled the driver from this range rover and then kicked and stomped on him as his wife and infant watched were part of a motorcycle club called Hollywood Stuntz. That's Stuntz with a Z.
Bob Cotter owns Hollywood Stunts, with an S.
He trains professional stunt performers out of his Greenpoint facility.
Cotter had nothing to do with this motorcycle road rage incident that's gone viral. In fact he doesn't even own a motorcycle. Yet suddenly he's found himself the target of death threats and hate email from people all over the country who are outraged by the attack on the driver of the SUV. “When someone tells you they're gonna kill you, that's kind of scary” Cotter said.
“It’s more than a nuisance, we have uniforms we wear here which I told my people not to wear because I don't know what's going to happen” he said. “I don't want anything to happen by some stupid person who thinks we're part of this group.”
Bob Cotter says he called police and went down to his local precinct, but ultimately he decided not to file a report. He says officers advised him to wait it out until this all blows over.
Since the story about the road rage incident broke, The Hollywood Stuntz biker group has taken down their web page and Facebook amidst the wave of public outrage.
But Cotter says his business isn't going anywhere.
He says it took him a long time to get to where he is and he isn’t going to let this ruin his reputation and his company.
