City of Gilbert to vote on potential mental health facility

Posted: Updated:
GILBERT, Ariz. -

Some people in Gilbert are up in arms about plans to build a mental health facility in their neighborhood, near Val Vista and Williamsfield Road.

Thursday night, the town will take a look at the project and neighbors are turning out in protest.

The design review board will examine the blueprint for the mental health hospital -- but before they approve or deny it, they will hear from a lot of people who aren't happy about the idea.

Update: The design review board passed the final site plan.

FOX 10's Kristen Keogh reports.
