New Surveillance Video Shows Shooting Suspects

Posted: Updated:

Philadelphia Police have released surveillance video of suspects involved in a robbery-shooting that happened in the Society Hill section of the city early Monday morning.

The video shows the suspects walking down Walnut Street before the incident unfolded near Second and Walnut streets right outside a Sheraton Hotel.

Police tell FOX 29 News that the 33-year-old victim was attempting to open the door to his Jeep Cherokee when he was approached by two guys with guns.

"Both had guns, and they say, 'Give it up,' and he was trying, he almost had the car door open, and they start pistol-whipping him. And there was like blood all over the place. And he tried to break free from them – he did break free from them, finally, and he ran about a half-a-block down Walnut and he was shot one time in the back," Capt. George Fuchs, of the Philadelphia Police Dept said.

Investigators say both suspects wore hooded sweatshirts and carried guns. The victim remains in stable condition.
