Student arrested after allegedly making 'kill list'

WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. -

Authorities say a Whitfield County student was arrested for allegedly creating a "kill list" that included students, teachers and school administrators.

The 15-year-old boy is a student at Coahulla Creek High School, according to the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office.

Andrea Crider said that the teen told her in the gym that he was planning on killing some people, including her brother. Crider said that threat sounded serious enough that she told the school's principal.

Police say a school administrator confronted the student on Oct. 16 and found a yellow notebook in his backpack. In the notebook, the student allegedly had several names under a list with the heading "Menschen zu toten/Ziele."

"Menschen zu toten/Ziele" is German for "to kill people / targets," according to Google Translate.

The student reportedly told police that the people on the hit list were "people who don't think highly of me."

While the student did not have any weapons on him, according to police, he said his father had guns and he knew how to get to them. He also said he had plans and blueprints to build an explosive device.

Crider's mother, Rhonda Webb, said she's afraid for both her children.

"It's a scary thought, them going to school knowing anything could happen, because the school doesn't have metal detectors," said Webb.

The student has not been back to school. He's in the juvenile detention center charged with several counts of making terroristic threats and acts.
