French Scientist Explains Effectiveness Of Makeup

Posted: Updated:

Ladies, if you're looking to nail a job interview, or maybe get lucky in love, then there's a secret weapon you can use: your make-up!

A French scientist, Dr. Arnaud Aubert, says that flaws distract the brain, which is a big deal when making a first impression. He's authored a number of studies that link appearance and the way people perceive each other. According to him, people with less than flawless skin are ranked lower on the social scale than they otherwise might be.

He says that the area near the eyes, down to the mouth is what he calls "the social triangle." And it is the key to success.

Dr. Aubert found that just a little bit of make-up in this area, actually makes people like you more.

On the other hand, if you put on too much make-up, it back-fires because people are distracted by how much make-up you have on.
