As part of the Home for the Holidays Program by Warrick Dunn Charities and Habitat for Humanity Newark, Elizabeth Castillo and her two grandchildren were chosen to receive a brand new start.
Not only is the brand-new refrigerator fully stocked in the Castillo household, it has a new TV, a new couch, new PC, new kitchen appliances, and new and bedroom sets.
Former NFL running back Warrick Dunn's charity has given more than 120 single-parent homes a new start around the country. The former Buccaneers and Falcons running back has been giving back for more than a decade after going through hard times of his own.
Jeffrey Farrell, the executive director for Habitat for Humanity in Newark, said that after the home was purchased it was gutted, renovated, installed with new plumbing, electric, and insulation so now Elizabeth and her grand kids can have a bit of an easier life.
