VINELAND, N.J. (AP) - Counselors are on hand at Vineland High School North after a 14-year-old freshman died in a car crash.

It was the second death of a student in two weeks.

Police say Jermire Lowery was one of five juveniles in a car driven by a 17-year-old who hit a parked truck on Monday. The other juveniles were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Sgt. Peter D'Arrigo tells The Press of Atlantic City the driver had a probationary license, which forbids the person from having more than one passenger in the vehicle unless accompanied by an adult.

No charges have been filed and the investigation continues.

Counselors were last at the school after 14-year-old Alexa Strittmatter was struck and killed by two cars while walking to her bus stop on Oct. 30.
