Former school security guard accused of having relationship with 15-year-old student
TUCSON, Ariz. -
A former high school security guard has been released from jail after being accused of kissing a 15-year-old female student.
Detectives learned that 71-year-old Eric Oswald and the
student developed an inappropriate relationship at the school over a
period of several months.
Authorities say that relationship had been going on for sometime -- possibly starting when the girl was 14-years old.
Oswald was arrested a week ago and resigned from Cienega High School in Tucson after the charge surfaced.
Pima County Sheriff's reports say Oswald met the girl during football practice and some of the kissing took place in the locker room.
The girl's parents have told detectives their young daughter has a history of liking older men.
"I am personally saddened when anything when there's any allegation like this that occurs because our primary purpose is to protect our students and our children," said John Carruth, assistant superintendent at Vail School.
Oswald was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
