Amber Alert canceled, teen facing charges

BUCKEYE, Ariz. (AP) - A 16-year-old Buckeye girl without a driver's license is in trouble with the law after allegedly taking off in a family vehicle with two younger sisters.

Authorities say the 16-year-old was babysitting her 1-year-old and 8-year-old siblings at their home on Saturday when she drove off with them in her mother's SUV.

An Amber Alert was issued. It was canceled early Sunday morning when the girls returned to the home unharmed about a half-day after they left the home.

A Maricopa County sheriff's spokesman said detectives took the 16-year-old into custody.
