Expert: How To Cash In On Old Devices

PHILADELPHIA -

Everyone wants the latest and greatest smart phones and tablets, but it gets expensive if you want to keep buying the newest models.

What if you could get rid of your outdated gadgets and have a few hundred bucks to put towards a new one?

Financial expert, Dan Roccato, tells us how to cash in on our old devices with different programs.

For instance, Apple offers a trade-in program where you can get store credit at places like Wal-mart, Target, and Best Buy when you trade in an old device.

You can also sell old devices online with sites such as Amazon and EBay.

However, there is also a new website that gives you cash for your gadgets, called Gazelle.com. With a few clicks, the site will tell you how much your device is worth. Shipping your gadget to them is free, and once the item is evaluated, Gazelle sends you a check or gets you the money through Pay Pal.

When selling an electronic device, always try to save the box and the accessories, because it makes the product worth more. Also, beware of scams, and be sure to delete all of your personal data before turning the item over to a stranger, advises Roccato.
