A Grosse Pointe Park Police officer is accused of humiliating and demeaning a black man and then recording his actions on his cell phone.

Fox 2's Randy Wimbley obtained portions of the alleged recorded video from the web site Motor City Muckraker.

In the video you can see and hear the man making bizarre noises at the request of the officer.

Motor City Muckraker reports that the officer distributed the video to other officers throughout the police department.

Fox 2's Randy Wimbley asked Grosse Pointe Park Police Chief David Hiller about the video and if it was distributed to other officers. Hiller would not talk on camera, but said off camera that an investigation into the matter is ongoing.

From the Associated Press: Grosse Pointe Park spokesman Greg Bowens wouldn't discuss specifics of the videos, but said Wednesday they came as "a surprise and a shock to everybody" and are "hurtful all around."

Bowens says he expects the investigation to be completed shortly and that the department is reaching out to the Michigan State Police for assistance. He would not say whether anyone has been disciplined in the matter.

A statement from the department says it "does not tolerate unprofessional conduct by its officers."
