A Costco warehouse in southern California is apologizing over a mistake involving bibles -- this religious scripture was labeled as "fiction."

Pastor Caleb Kaltenbach was in the store and found some bibles, but they had the word "fiction" written on the price tag.

Kalthenbach couldn't believe his eyes.  All the bibles inside the store were in the fiction section.

So he pulled out his phone and snapped a picture.  He posted a photo of the book on Twitter with the comment, "Costco has Bibles for sale under the genre of FICTION  Hmmmm......"  And once it hit social media, a lot of people were shocked.

"You have some people who are ultra fundamentalist Christians who say we need to boycott Costco and I don't think that's the answer," said Kalthenbach.

He contacted Costco managers to get an explanation.  They called it human error and vowed to fix it.

Later, Costco released this statement to FOX News:

"Costco's distributor mislabeled a small percentage of the Bibles, however we take responsibility and should have caught the mistake. We are correcting this with them for future distribution. In addition, we are immediately relabeling all mislabeled Bibles. We greatly apologize for this error."

Costco says a distributor mislabeled a small percentage of bibles before they were sent to the store located in Simi Valley, just north of Los Angeles. Costco is taking responsibility and says they should have caught the mistake.

The company will re-label the bibles and they apologized for the error.
