PHOENIX (KSAZ) -

Phoenix police say a man pulled out of a house fire early Saturday morning has died of his injuries.

The man has been identified as 44-year-old Carl Zeman.

A spokesperson with Phoenix Fire Department says the fire broke out on Saturday at about 6:20am near the Carefree Highway and Cave Creek Road. Firefighters found Zeman and his dog inside the home, and both were pulled out of the home.

Fire investigators are determining the cause of the fire, however, that say it does not appear that criminal activity was a factor.
