New Year’s Philly Style

New Year's Philly Style

Cold temperatures didn't keep thousands of revelers away from Penn's Landing New Years Eve.

The annual Fireworks on the Waterfront was packed with people for 2 fireworks displays on the Delaware River.

"They were so good. They were better than Disney world" said one woman about the 6pm fireworks display.

This holiday season Penn's Landing has been transformed into a Winterfest village. Unlike years past, the area around the RiverRink has new warming stations, food vendors and a half a dozen fire pits.

"It's so much fun. It's a great way to start the year. The fireworks the fresh air you get some exercise and we love Philadelphia"

Many people say they're done with partying until all hours on New Years. Instead opting for a more family friendly event with ice skating and hot chocolate while watching fireworks.

"I think this is the perfect time slot for a family event because we're able to celebrate New Years and still get home before all the craziness goes on" said Loretta Signorelli who was skating with her son.

And of course it wouldn't be New Year's without trying to better ourselves in the new year. We asked partygoers what New Year's resolutions they had this year.

"Be a little nicer, smile a little more just be more positive" said one woman.

"Better improvements in my job, better improvements on the house and better improvements with my children" said Jeff Bennett from Olney.
