PHOENIX -
Phoenix police have identified a shooting victim found on a canal bank near 47th Avenue and Cholla.

Sgt. Tommy Thompson says the body of 19-year-old Isaiah Orantes was found next to a canal after a person called to report it early Wednesday morning.

The suspect was identified as 20-year-old Robert Patrick Nicolai.

The men were allegedly involved in an illegal drug transaction when police say Nicolai shot Orantes.

Nicolai was arrested and booked into Maricopa County Jail on a first degree murder charge.
