Snow flurries possible early Wednesday

Snow flurries possible for North Georgia

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

A quick change in the weather could once again bring a dusting of snow to the mountains of North Georgia.

Unlike the last system, ice is not a factor, says FOX 5 Chief Meteorologist Ken Cook. "Right now the (computer) models are calling for snow possible in the higher elevations" Cook said.

This weather system will be accompanied by some moisture, which could result in some light snow Wednesday morning.  "If it picks up enough moisture, snow showers and snow flurries are possible across the northern part of the state, especially north of a Rome to Jasper to Cleveland line.  Some spots there could see ½ to even an inch of snow," writes Ken Cook.

A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect in far North Georgia from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.  Up to an inch of snow is possible at elevations of 1500 feet or higher, according to FOX 5 Storm
