Student found dead in UGA dorm

ATHENS, Ga. -

The body of a University of Georgia student was found in a dorm room on Tuesday, according to campus police.

UGA Police Chief Williamson said that authorities were notified by other students that they hadn't heard from an individual in several days. Police found the student dead in a locked room at Vandiver Hall around 7 p.m.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine cause of death. There was no sign of foul play, Williamson said.

The name of the student has not been released.
