Workers complain about flooded government office

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -

Workers inside a downtown Atlanta office building say they have to wear masks every day because of an awful smell. Employees at the Fulton County Government Center claim they are getting sick from water issues and possibly mold.

Workers inside the county's purchase department say the moldy, musty conditions have gone on for two years.

FOX 5 found one private maintenance person on hand Wednesday trying to dry out and disinfect offices where important contract work must be done.

A water consultant has been brought on board to try to get the problem straightened out, officials said.

A spokesperson for Chairman of Fulton County Board of Commissioners John Eaves told FOX 5 that the building is safe, but employees will moved to another floor as a safety precaution.
