Drunk man seeking help points a gun at Roseville paramedics

(WJBK) -

Roseville paramedics responded to a call of a man who had apparently fallen and could not get up. When paramedics got to the home around 11:30 a.m. Friday no one answered and, fearing the man was unconscious or worse, they entered through the unlocked door.

Once inside, the paramedics were confronted by a highly intoxicated man who was armed with a gun.

"The guy's pointing what appears to be a semiautomatic hand gun at me," says Rob Ulicny of the Roseville Fire Department. "I froze. I didn't know what to do, and that split second I just took off."

The paramedics then left the home and called for police assistance. Roseville police showed up and had to physically subdue the man to take him into custody.

No shots were fired and nobody was injured. The initial call for help came from the man's sister, who had talked to the man on the phone.

Police say the man may be taken to the Macomb Co. Jail this weekend and should be arraigned on assault and weapon charges on Monday.
