Police: Almost 200 crashes during, after snowstorm

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say there were nearly 200 crashes during this week's snowstorm and in its aftermath.

The News Journal reports (http://delonline.us/1mBs1qb) that police warn that drivers should remain cautious as freezing temperatures and a chance of snow remain in the forecast.

Spokesman Sgt. Paul Shavack says police responded to 150 crashes statewide during the storm, including nearly 100 in New Castle County. He says that doesn't include the number of disabled vehicle calls that troopers responded to throughout the storm. Shavack says there were no deaths or serious injuries in storm-related crashes.

Shavack says people should continue to be careful, noting that 44 motorists crashed on slick roads in New Castle County on Thursday morning alone.
