There's always room for man to have two best friends.

That's the case for Cecil Williams of Brooklyn, New York who received his new guide do Godiva from guiding eyes for the blind.

Williams, who is blind, made national headlines in December when he fainted and fell off a subway platform and onto a Manhattan subway track.

His guide dog, Orlando, fell with him and laid next to him while the train went over them, but they survived the accident without any serious injuries.

Williams, of Brooklyn, has been blind since 1995. Orlando is his second dog. The lab turned 11 on January 5, and will be retiring soon, Williams said.

His health insurance does not cover the cost of a non-working dog, so he began looking for a good home for him.

Grant Kirsh, a self-titled "Good Samaritan" started a campaign to help out Williams and raised more than $25,000 to get Cecil a new guide dog.

Godiva, a two-year old yellow lab, will now take over the responsibility from Orlando who is ready to retire his service and will now just be pampered as a pet.
