22nd Philly Wing Bowl Concludes With Dramatic Win

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Philadelphia's biggest eating contest was won by Molly Schuyler, who ate 363 wings!

"I did not know. I didn't want to know my total until the end," said Schuyler.

The 22nd annual SportsRadio 94WIP's Wing Bowl started at 6 a.m. this morning, and the entire Wells Fargo Center was packed with spectators and contestants. Jamie "The Bear" McDonald tried to defend his title against top eaters like Jonathan "Super Squibb" and Patrick Bertoletti. Schuyler was a relatively newcomer, but she beat all the favored contenders and also won $22,000 in the process.

What was Schuyler's game plan? "Just don't stop, and don't throw up," she explained to Q Deezy. And there were definitely a few pukings during the event.

What will she do with the money earned? "Pay off some bills," she said.

Eagles Center Jason Kelce even took part in the event, but his big football player body was ill-equipped to compete against speed-eating professionals. He was eliminated in the first round. He ate 65 wings total.

"Watching the people next to me, the speed that they are able to eat, chew and swallow was just unbelievable," Kelce told FOX 29.

The event and its sold out crowd are now at an after-party held in SugarHouse Casino. Hopefully, they'll get to dance off some of the crazy calories consumed today.
