PHILADELPHIA -

The latest ship named in honor of the heroes of September 11th has made its way to Philadelphia.

The U.S.S. Somerset is now docked near the Independence Seaport Museum at Penns Landing.

The ship left Jacksonville, Fla., Monday on the final leg of its commissioning ceremony.

The vessel is the third named after the heroes of 9/11. It's in honor of the victim's whose plane, Flight 93, went down in Shanksville, Somerset County, Pa.

Limited public tours are available starting Sunday. A commissioning ceremony will be held on March 1.

A website for the commissioning says, "The name honors the passengers and crew of United Airlines Flight 93 whose actions prevented terrorist highjackers from reaching their intended target, forcing the airplane to crash near Shanksville, Somerset County, Pa."

The website goes on to say that the Somerset's bow stem contains steel that was melted down from a 22-ton power shovel or "dragline" situated near the crash scene, atop which an American flag was hoisted during the recovery effort.

"The courage and heroism of the people aboard Flight 93 will never be forgotten and USS Somerset will leave a legacy that will never be forgotten by those wishing to do harm to this country," former Secretary of the Navy Gordon R. England is quoted as saying.
