Farmer Builds 50ft Tall Snowman

Farmer Builds 50ft Tall Snowman

Posted: Updated:

Between the biting winds and the snow storms, it's been a tough winter .

Some people are running out of places to put all the snow, but not farmer Greg Novak from Foley Minnesota.

He decided to find something to smile about in this dreary weather.

"Building a snowman isn't original," Novak said. "Building one this big is a little different."

Building one this big is very different and catching all the neighbors' eyes.

"I'd say it's pretty amazing. Not many people do this," said a Foley resident.

"When he started building it, I was like; you've got to be kidding me, right? It's huge," said Novak's nephew, Tyler Miller.

Novak started the snowman two months ago from the snow that was crushing his greenhouses.

With the help of some friends and a lot of heavy machinery, Novak created a winter mascot.

"It's a lot of work. I wasn't here a lot, but it was a lot of work, I give him credit," Tyler continues.

Fifty feet of snow later the snowman, nicknamed "Grand Daddy", is complete.

"It's been a long, hard winter. We might as well have fun with it. If you can't beat it, embrace it," Greg said.
