55 gallons of diesel fuel spilled after crash

PEORIA, Ariz. -

Over 50 gallons of diesel fuel spilled into the intersection of 107th Avenue and Union Hills early Thursday morning after a tanker truck and a minivan collided.

A hole was punctured in the tank during the crash, causing about 55 gallons of fuel to spill into the middle of the street.

Peoria Fire Capt. Rob Brewster says crews were able to stop the fuel before it got to the storm drains.

We're told the tanker was headed for a Circle K on the corner of the intersection.

The roadway was closed for an hour or two while crews cleaned up the spill.
