Firefighters continue to monitor a wildfire that has been burning in mountains near Sierra Vista that is now 90 percent contained.

About half of the 400 firefighters and other personnel assigned to the 240-acre Brown Fire in the Huachuca Mountains have been released, and the command unit assigned to the fire is being downgraded.

The blaze began April 13 and has been burning in brush and timber in steep and rugged terrain, mostly on the Fort Huachuca Army base and in the Coronado National Forest.

No structures currently are threatened.
