Verizon store near Cumberland Mall robbed overnight

Posted: Updated:
SMYRNA, Ga. - A handful of display model phones were stolen from a wireless store near Cumberland Mall, overnight.

It happened at the Verizon store at 2460 Cumberland Parkway around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Authorities don't know how the glass door was broken but it doesn't look to have been rammed by a car.

The bandit was unable to steal any of the new inventory because it was all stored in the location's new safe, according to a representative from the store.

Cobb County police think the perpetrator in this crime may be the same person responsible for a number of other crimes in the Powers Ferry area.

Authorities don't have a good description on the suspect but they believe he's traveling in a black Chevy truck; possibly an "Equinox."
