Standoff ends without incident on Detroit's east side

DETROIT (WJBK) --  A standoff situation on Detroit's east side ended without incident Tuesday morning.

Detroit police say the woman came out of the home on Bradford Avenue and Kennebec Street and no one was injured.

Officers responded the at about 11:30 p.m. Monday night, when family members of a 48-year-old woman told police she needed to go to a crisis center.

When officers arrived, the woman pulled out a knife, causing police to call for additional assistance.

Family members of the woman are cooperating with police.

Police have tried using tear gas to get the woman out of the home, but the attempt was unsuccessful.

Police say the woman is alone in the house.
