Final 'Good Day' for Anne Dwyer

Final 'Good Day' for Anne Dwyer

Posted: Updated:
TAMPA (FOX 13) - It's a sad day for Tampa Bay, but a great one for Anne Dwyer. After nearly 30 years with WTVT, our Good Day Tampa Bay anchor is retiring.

"How do you say goodbye after 28 years? Very quickly if you don't want your mascara to run," she quipped as her final show came to an end. "Thanks to the management at FOX 13; thanks to all of my co-workers. But most of all, thanks to you, our viewers, for supporting me all these years, putting up with my bad hair days and seeing me through my ups and downs."

We spent the morning looking back at her career ahead of her big sendoff, punctuated with a dramatic smashing of her alarm clock. Even Mayor Bob Buckhorn was on hand to declare today "Anne Dwyer Day" in the city of Tampa.

"I'm not leaving the area," Anne added. "This is my home. So if you see me out and about, please say hello."

If you missed any of the show, you can watch several of the segments here.

We'll miss you, Anne!
