Forsyth Co. deputy shoots man caught with rifle in truck

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. -

A deputy was forced to shoot a man in Forsyth County on Thursday.

Investigators tell FOX 5 the deputy drove up on a man on Hopewell Road near Hubbard Town Road.

According to investigators, the deputy pulled up and saw the man holding a rifle while sitting in his truck.

The deputy asked the man what he was doing and the man got out of the truck and pointed the weapon at him.

The officer pulled out his gun and fired several shots, hitting the suspect.

Deputies say the suspect was taken to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center and is expected to survive.
