Stepmother of Detroit boy found in basement released with tether

DETROIT (WJBK) -- The stepmother of 12-year-old Charlie Bothuell, the boy who was reportedly missing for nearly two weeks before being found alive in the family's basement in Detroit, was released from jail early Saturday afternoon.

Monique Dillard-Bothuell was being held on a probation violation. She was released before 2 p.m. Saturday. She was ordered to wear a tether and is on house arrest.

Earlier this year, Monique Dillard-Bothuell pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor after she was initially charged with carrying a concealed weapon after her CPL had expired.

During one of the many searches of the Bothuell home during young Charlie's disappearance, a gun was found - a violation of her probation.

There are no criminal charges against the Monique Dillard-Bothuell or her husband, Charlie Bothuell, IV in connection with the disappearance and discovery of Charlie Bothuell.
