FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. - An animal control officer is being credited with rescuing a fawn stuck in a retention pond in Forsyth County.

Forsyth County Animal Control Deputy Barger responded to the Olde Atlanta Club Golf Course on Monday to assist staff with the fawn that had fallen into the pond and couldn't get out on its own.

The fawn was taken to a local vet to be checked out and then taken to a wildlife rehabilitation specialist.

Officials remind business owners and residents to make sure gates and fences are secure around retention ponds especially after heavy rains to help prevent incidents such as this.
