Could A Dead Animal Kill A Promising Model's Career Before It Really Gets Started?

Posted: Updated:
There were winners and there were losers at the World Cup this year and not all of them were on the field! We were all fixated on our computer screens, watching all the photos of horrified Brazilian team fans whose faces were contorted as they experienced being crushed by Germany. But, those weren't the only sets of photos released that had people glued to their computer screens.

Meet 17-year-old Belgian fan Axelle Despiegelaere, one of those off the field winners. When photos surfaced of her, cheering her team on during the Group H match between Russia and Belgium, L'Oreal took notice and offered her a modeling contract. Not only that, but the popularity of the photo sparked a fan page on Facebook that already has almost 300,000 likes.

Here's where things take a turn though (and a great social media teaching moment for the kiddos): all that notoriety may mean that her modeling career is killed before it gets started! Another photo of the modeling hopeful has surfaced and this time instead of celebrating the national team... she's grinning with a rifle, and a kill in Africa (this photo via her Facebook page).

L'Oreal hasn't officially responded to the release of this latest photo but the company is a well-known advocate of animal rights. What do you think? Should this be enough for Axelle to get the Axe or is it a non-issue?
