Motorists stop DUI driver with child in backseat

Concerned bystanders helped stop a dangerous driver and then made a surprising find inside the car.

Motorcyclist George Cevan Hokett spotted a woman driving a Mercedes erratically near his home in Suwanee Saturday.

“She was all over the roadway,” said Hokett.

Hokett tells FOX 5’s George Franco he started following the woman, along with two men in a pickup truck. He says the Mercedes turned onto Peachtree Industrial Boulevard where the erratic driving continued.

“No one could pass her, that’s when I passed her in the turning lane and got in front of her,” said Hokett.

Hokett says the men in the truck boxed her in from behind and together forced her to pull over just past McGinnis Ferry.

The woman’s 8-year-old son was in the backseat not wearing a seat belt.

Leena Mithani, 44, was arrested after failing a sobriety test and was charged with DUI, child endangerment and seat belt violation.
