Drug bust at the border: three arrested for smuggling

NOGALES, Ariz. - Three big drug busts took place on the border. Two men were arrested in separate drug-smuggling attempts through the Nogales Port of Entry.

A 64 year-old man from Mexico was stopped by agents. Drug detection dogs found more than 27 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in his truck door. The meth was worth more than $82,000.

A 31 year-old U.S. citizen living in Mexico was also arrested. Authorities found 39 pounds of meth found hidden in the seats of his truck. The meth was worth more than $117,000.

And a 31 year-old woman from Mexico was arrested after agents say she tried to smuggle 236 pounds of marijuana into the United States. That bust happened at the Port of Douglas. The street value of the drugs was worth $118,000.

All three have been turned over to U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement.
