Orlando Weather PM Forecast: Pleasant, breezy evening

On the first night of spring, March 20, we'll see clear conditions with lows dipping back into the upper 40s in Gainesville and Ocala and lower 50s in Orlando. With the light wind and clear sky, some patchy fog is on the table along I-4.

After a week of rain, thunder and temperatures in the 40s, Central Florida is finally trading storm clouds for sunshine.

As Spring officially sprung – starting this morning at 10:46 a.m. – this weekend's temperatures look promising for an outdoor adventure in the sunshine.

A cool start to the weekend

While breezy conditions will persist through this evening, March 20, winds are expected to relax overnight. Clear skies will allow temperatures to dip into the upper 40s in Gainesville and Ocala, while Orlando will be in the low 50s.

Drivers should be mindful of patchy fog developing along the I-4 corridor early Saturday morning, March 21.

Weekend forecast for March 20-21, 2026.

Saturday & Sunday: Warm Spring Break weather

If you have outdoor plans, you’re in luck. High pressure will dominate the region. Here are a few things to know:

Abundant sunshine: Keep the sunglasses handy for both Saturday and Sunday as sunny skies are forecasted with warm temps all weekend long!

Warm temperatures: Afternoon highs will climb into the low 80s.

Low humidity: There will be little humidity, making it perfect for all outdoor activities and events.

Cool nights: Lows will fall back into the low 50s both nights.

Rip current monitor for March 21-23, 2026.

Beach warning

While the weather is ideal for a family beach day, there's a very high risk of rip currents on Saturday. Spring breakers are urged to swim near a lifeguard and avoid going out too far.

7-day forecast, starting March 21, 2026.

Looking forward: 90-degree weather

The warming trend intensifies as we head into the new work week. By Monday, temperatures will surge into the mid-to-upper 80s under continued sunshine.

A weak cold front is expected to arrive on Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing much-needed showers primarily along the coast. While this will briefly drop temperatures into the upper 70s, the cool-down won't last. By next Friday, Central Florida will be nearing the 90-degree mark.

Drought and wildfire concerns persist

Despite recent rainfall from earlier this week, the moisture was not enough to curb Florida's dry spell. North Florida is now experiencing "exceptional" drought conditions in North Florida. We will see more dry air and low rain chances, so drought and wildfire risks will continue to be on the rise.

Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and follow local burn bans.
